THE THIN MAN GOES HOME (1944) **1/2 It's not a great formula, but they execute it so nicely. You get to encounter the danger without actually feeling it. Myrna Loy is in particularly caustic form as she begins to show her years, and William Powell hides his under a high school gym suit that causes little old ladies to stop on the street and yell across the hedge at him. Anne Revere is perfect, as always, as Crazy Mary-I only wish she had fifty times as many lines. The wild gamble not to have Powell drink in this one is only partly successful, they could have easily worked up some great gags if they'd just involved him in the poolroom brawl.
