KING OF THE ZOMBIES (1941) * They have a zombie farm, but they haven't grown very many zombies. That's good, because they have no idea what to do with the ones they already have. It's not scary, it's not funny, the story line is like something some dull-normal kids stuck in their room might make up on a rainy day. The saddest part is that there are some, well two, decent actors. Mantan Moreland generates no small amount of charm and good will, even from within the confines of a not-funny racial caricature. Marguerite Whitten is also very pleasant, but poised, and the moments between them are like scenes from an entirely different (way better) film. But there they are, stuck in this half-assed movie with these stupid zombies, yet another aspect of the curse. When the zombies walk around it's a little bit funny, but not nearly as funny as just sitting on a corner and watching dogs.
