MEET THE ROBINSONS (2007) **1/2 I'm generally not too excited about CGI, but this stuff does have a more human feel to it. It's rounder and softer, not so distant. The tale? Well, they've done enough about children who look beautiful or can jump high, haven't they? It's refreshing to have one glorifying intellect and pathology working in conjunction. No I'm not kidding, just emphasizing whatever point I think I have. I'm glad to see Walt Disney working with this many clever and eccentric characters. The villain is tremendous, but a lot of the "good" characters are about as nutty. Who will try and take over the world out of all this? Will the young man find his mother? Does anyone still really think the future will look that cool? I dunno, I guess I do. Good film for orphans and orphan-lovers, and bleeding hearts and people who enjoy cartoons and like to laugh.
