GARFIELD: A TAIL OF TWO KITTIES (2006) ** It's what you would expect, hope for. I'm not crazy about he cartoon but don't consider reading it a waste of time; ditto the movie, Odie! The Rottweiler's funny, Jennifer Love Hewitt's around to add a human element, Billy Connolly adds an inhuman one; I don't know who convinced Bill Murray to be the voice of a cartoon cat, but he's good without it too obviously being him… I'm not sure what more than that you could expect. British aristocratic culture suffers somewhat in comparison to Garfield's lasagna & a nap strategy, but at some point you have to just admit the superiority of some cultures over others. I like the animal party by the pool, reminds me of the Rolling Stones in the Beggar's Banquet days.
