DRACULA (1931) *** Bela Lugosi is the all-time king of stills. He lives in a castle with armadillos, and must run up an enormous candle bill. The crazy vampire convert makes really funny noises. There's no music at all after the opening credits. The long shots of the staircase with no rail are great. So are Drac's pads in Transylvania and London.
