DEATH BECOMES HER (1992) ** A good part of the joke is the kind of Broadway the Meryl Streep character was doing in 1978. I mean, who the hell was watching that kind of stuff then, much less doing it? Meryl and Goldie Hawn look like they had a damn good time making this movie, hopefully part of the joke was adding Bruce Willis into the mix. They don't act circles around him, part of out kindness perhaps and part because acting would only accentuate the dead portions (pun intended, but sadly necessary) of the script. The bit about the living dead in the Hollywood Hills is the stuff of legend and there's not much better way to debunk the myth than by treating it like this. The high point is definitely Isabella Rosellini's oration on immortality; and isn't that Fabio himself ensconced in her dark beach at night by a house pool dream stud pentad? It IS! (similarly mute others include John Enos III, Daniel Lee Clark, Joel Beeson and Michael A. Nickles) Only in The Business could they have such a dull party with guests including Jim Morrison, Andy Warhol and Elvis (freed from liver concerns, or having to go to work in the morning even!). Shoulda invited Guns n' Roses, at least Slash and Duff.
