My debut novel, Snap Once, is in print in the states and the UK. I also have a series of six children's books in production with the San Min Book Company, and five nonfiction books in varying stages of assemblage. I've completed an even more brilliant novel, ulrike's weinglas, gudrun's violin.
I'm currently working on a fourth novel, tentatively entitled Efforts to Cling. I was pretty burned out on anger after writing ulrike's weinglas, so this one is more about forgiveness than righteous indignation and the slippery slopes that passion engenders. Efforts to Cling is a surrealist work following the path of an aged and compromised judge and includes appearances by the Hitler brain trust, a performance evangelist, a school custodian who just won the lottery, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, and the ghosts of Joe Lovitto and my dog Blackberry. Maybe Sir Galahad, we'll see if I can find anything in Cornwall this summer. I anticipate finishing the first draft some time next winter.

Snap Once is a masterpiece about a semi-talented writer with little confidence who works for a really dumb newspaper. He's eventually assigned to follow around a writer for a good newspaper, and write stories about whatever the other guy writes about. Naturally he gets the entire thing wrong, and ends up libeling a powerful elected official. Obviously, a lawsuits ensues. About this time his newspaper is being gobbled up by a corporate conglomerate, as inevitably happens. The corporate goofs are very happy about the lawsuit, as it's easily "fixed," and no one had ever even noticed the dumbass newspaper before. It's something of a metaphorical work.
The children's stories, which include Double Bubble, Toilet Trouble and Relax! The Bank is Now Safe, will be used on students in the English foreign language program in schools in Taiwan. They'll have a normal textbook, tormenting them with concepts like conjugating verbs, then they'll be subjected to the comic relief of my high-brow literary works, driven in Dr. Seuss meter.
I've published more than 150 features over the years in publications ranging from American Legacy (Forbes), to Adbusters, to Good Dog!. I've covered a lot of diverse ground, but my usual turf includes power chords, the cool sports, and politics. I'm also putting together a collection of subjective film reviews tentatively entitled Brilliant Observations on 1776 Films.
