THE ACE OF HEARTS (1921) ** Lon Chaney is a loser anarchist artist so madly in love with an anarchist girl that he can't see she's in love with a different anarchist boy. His kid hasn't taught him how to turn into a wolfman, so when the other two get married he stands out in the storm waiting for the bedroom light to go off, rain pouring off the brim of his hat like a rain gutter straining an ocean. Now the anarchist girl and other anarchist boy had cared only for The Cause, but after some good humpin' on wedding night they entirely lose interest in it and he refuses to blow up some guy that looks like J.P. Morgan the next morning. Naturally the other anarchists, who mainly sit around in a room wearing suits, aren't pleased and a number of overly wrought scenes are caused. All of the lovers live happily ever after. Its, you know, heart is in the right place.
